Hi everyone, suitcase packed ready to go to Tuscany, I had to cancel as I had to have an eye operation.
As we still had the weekend we decided to get as close to Tuscany as we could. One of my favourite wine estates there, Frascobadi, has opened a wonderful restaurant in the heart of London just of Regent’s Street. Here are the photos – judge for yourself. The food was excellent and the wine list long, interesting and wonderful covering Tuscany and neighbouring areas where they have vineyards.
The Burata in my appetiser just melted in the mouth and the peas were an inspired complement to it while the croutons provided a deliciously crunchy textural contrast.
The chicken with fried zucchini in a rich reduced wine sauce was delicious and very flavoursome.
The desert was really rich and creamy but also delicious. You could easily share it and the guilt and still feel very smiley (from the wonderful chef not just the wine!)
Do go – it is a wonderful restaurant! If you like this you might like my recently updated post on my top 10 favourite Italian restaurants in London’s Kensington and Chelsea by a local.
