This wonderful modern fusion interpretation of Latin food is in a typically glamorous New York restaurant space – and was very full on the Sunday brunch we visited so booking is advised. The chef is Jean-Georrges Vongerichten. The restaurant has huge ceilings, beautiful lighting and lovely design touches at the bar and windows,
Try the Jalipeno margarita – subtle chilli flavour – wonderful, or the strawberry one if you want to be more conventional.
Everything was delicious from the garlic prawns to the beef enchiladas, chicken Tacos and stunningly beautiful salad.
The desert was the highlight – puff pastry with creme patisserie on a bed of chocolate mousse with pieces of chocolate cookie inside. Share one unless you are ravenous.
After lunch stroll to the nearby gem of a museum – The Rubins – specialising in Asia. If you get there before July 2017 you are in for an extra special treat with a floor dedicated to Henric Cartier-Bresson photo shoots of India including Ghandi. But the permanent exhibitions are good and inventive too.
